Do I need a developer to install or maintain Whoosh?
No. You install Whoosh from the Shopify App Store and manage everything inside your Shopify admin. There's no code, no theme editing, and no developer required.

Whoosh addresses common speed issues in Shopify stores, including: App Overload: Manages scripts from a curated list of popular third-party apps to reduce their performance impact. Google Core Web Vitals: Improves metrics like INP, LCP, and CLS, which are factors in search engine ranking. First Impressions: Reduces loading delays for a more immediate user experience. Theme code: Whoosh does not edit your theme. It changes when apps load, not how the theme is built.
Will Whoosh conflict with my theme or existing apps?
Whoosh is built for compatibility with Shopify stores and runs alongside your theme rather than editing it. If a highly customized theme or a specific app does conflict, our support team works with you to resolve it quickly.
How quickly can I see results after installing Whoosh?
It depends on the Whoosh plan you’ve chosen. Smart App Loading can impact key performance metrics such as LCP and INP immediately (note: PageSpeed Insights reflects the last 28 days of data, so don’t expect immediate changes there). AI Page Preloading relies on real user data to build an understanding of common navigation patterns, so timing for results significantly depends on the traffic your website gets. Typically, we see the effects within the first two weeks.
Is Whoosh compatible with Shopify Online Store 2.0 themes?
Yes. Whoosh is fully compatible with Shopify’s Online Store 2.0.
Can Whoosh handle high-traffic or enterprise-level Shopify stores?

How does Whoosh improve my Shopify store’s SEO?
Whoosh improves Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) and Interaction to Next Paint (INP), two of the three Core Web Vitals, measured on your real shoppers. Google uses Core Web Vitals in its page experience signals, so a store that passes them has one less thing holding its pages back in search. Total Blocking Time (TBT) is the lab test most closely tied to INP.
Will Whoosh impact the design or functionality of my site?
No. Whoosh is designed to operate safely alongside your existing theme, apps, and customizations.
Does Whoosh require ongoing maintenance or monitoring?
No ongoing technical maintenance is required. Whoosh continuously monitors performance and receives upgrades automatically.
What happens if I uninstall Whoosh?
Uninstall from the Whoosh dashboard and we remove our script, so your store goes back to exactly how it was. If you uninstall from Shopify’s app settings instead, we switch the script off remotely so it does nothing. Removing it from the Whoosh dashboard is the cleaner option because it leaves nothing behind.
Does Whoosh optimize mobile performance too?
Yes. In fact, Whoosh is heavily focused on mobile performance optimizations, as mobile traffic accounts for the majority of ecommerce visits.
How do you measure the revenue Whoosh recovers?
With an A/B test on your own store. Every store starts on a 50/50 test for its first few weeks: half your shoppers get Whoosh and half don’t, and your dashboard compares conversion and revenue between the two groups. The difference is the revenue Whoosh recovers. Once the result is clear, the split moves to 90/10, keeping 10% of shoppers as a control group so the lift stays measured.
How is Whoosh different from Hyperspeed or Booster?
Hyperspeed and Thunder change how your theme loads its design, which Whoosh does not do. Booster loads a page when the mouse rests on a link. Whoosh puts your other apps behind the product photo, preloads the page a shopper is likely to open next, and measures the result in sales on your own store.
Can I use Whoosh with another speed app?
Yes, as long as the two apps do different jobs. An image app next to Whoosh is fine, because photos and app programs are separate things. Avoid two apps that are both told to hold back the same app, such as your chat: they end up fighting over one job, and the chat can arrive late or stop working. Pick one app to manage when your other apps load, and never let any app hold back the checkout or the payment buttons.
Does Whoosh touch checkout?
No. Whoosh can preload your cart so it opens instantly, but it never preloads checkout or account pages.
How much does Whoosh cost?
Smart App Loading and AI Page Preloading are US$99 a month each, and Whoosh Max, which includes both, is US$149 a month. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial and is billed through Shopify.
How am I billed?
Through your Shopify bill. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, then Smart App Loading and AI Page Preloading are US$99 a month each and Whoosh Max is US$149 a month. Cancel anytime in Shopify.
What happens when my free trial ends?
Your plan starts on day 8, and the charge appears on your Shopify bill in US dollars. Uninstall before then and you pay nothing.
How do I cancel?
Uninstall Whoosh from its dashboard, or from Settings > Apps in your Shopify admin. Billing stops from then. A charge Shopify has already raised still appears on your next bill.
Can I get a refund?
Shopify bills for Whoosh, but refunds are our decision, not Shopify’s. If something went wrong, email admin@getwhoosh.ai with your store’s address and we’ll look at it with you.

Whoosh is made by a team in Sydney, Australia. It was founded in 2023, is operated by Fastlane Technology Pty Ltd, and has been on the Shopify App Store since 11 August 2025.
